Relationships Give Life
There's nothing like a phone call or a text from a best friend when things are tough, or a hug from a family member when you've had a bad day; and we can't forget that relief that you feel after talking through hard times with a life group leader!
Those feelings, that love, the smile that it puts on your face and the peace you feel are things that God wants for you. God wants you to be surrounded by people who care for you, uplift you and support you through it all; people that see the best in you when you don't feel so confident about yourself.
God created us to live in relationship with each other; and the Bible talks a lot about how we are supposed to treat one another in those relationships. Here are some examples: Hebrews 10:24 says that we should "think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works," Jesus said that we should love each other just like He loved us (John 13:34), and the apostle Paul wrote that every word we say should be positive and encouraging to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29). These are some of the things that make relationships give life!
How are your relationships giving you life? How are you giving life to others?
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
