Relationships Are Influential

There is nothing that influences us more than our relationships, and that's no surprise because it's how God wanted it to be! At City Church we always say that life change happens through relationships.

Last week the devo focused on how great relationships can be; having a good friend, a great relationship with your parents or a bond with your life group leader, for example, can change everything. We can be the best versions of ourselves when we are surrounded by people who are positive and encourage us to be better.

This is why it's important for us to be careful about who we're around; because in the same way that relationships can influence us to do good, they could also influence us in negative ways. As the saying goes, "Show me your friends and I'll show you who you are."

What kind of people are you friends with? Would you say that your friends have impacted you in a positive or negative way? How can you begin to surround yourself with positive influences?

“Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.”

Proverbs 13:20 NLT
