Week 4

Living a Life of Thanksgiving

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving! What is so great about this holiday is that in a world where we are constantly on the go, this day gives us the chance to get some time off of work and school, stop in our tracks and think about the blessings in our lives that we normally take for granted. It also the official beginning of the countdown to Christmas!

Over the past few weeks we have discussed that thanksgiving--the act of giving thanks--is God's desire for us and we talked about the ways in which we could express our thanks to God and to the important people in our lives. What if I told you, though, that it could go even further than that?

Giving thanks isn't just something we do on the last Thursday in December or around Christmas so that we can be sure to get that present we've been asking for. Thanksgiving should be a way of life! Every time you pray and every time you interact with your family, teachers and friends it should be done with an attitude of gratitude; because everyday is a day of thanksgiving.

As we move forward in the days and months to come with the New Year right around the corner, let's be thinking about ways we can become more thankful people during our journey with God!

Based on this devotional, what are some steps you can take to live a life of daily thanksgiving?

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
