WEEK 2: Living Out Your Faith At Home

Family: No people know you better, no people can bring you more joy and no people can make you more angry...and because of these facts it can often be a hard place to live out your faith at. However, God does have some expectations about the way we live out our faith at home.

The core of that is always love; the Bible tells us that love helps us to do what is right, and nothing could be more true! If you love your siblings/cousins you're not going to say mean things to them or physically hurt them. If you love your parents you won't disrespect them or not listen to what they tell you to do. Love gives us everything we need to be the people God wants us to be at home.

Another important thing is that God wants you to be examples, and the scripture you'll read today talks about this. It gives a list of areas you can be an example in:

  • In what you say (By encouraging and speaking positive things the people around you)

  • In what you do (By living a life of love)

  • In your faith (By reading your Bible, praying and attending service

Sometimes it can be difficult to put these things into practice especially if you are younger than most people in your family, but never forget that you are a leader! You are never too young for people to look up to you.

In what ways can we be better examples for God at home?

Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
