Week 2:

Thanksgiving in Prayer

Last week we focused on how thanksgiving is God's will for us; but what are some ways we can actually live a life of thanksgiving? One of the ways we can do that is by the way we pray to God.

Living a life of thanksgiving will change the way we pray! God wants us to come to him about everything we need, and He absolutely loves hearing from us. However, if the only time we speak to God is when we need something then it's possible that we're not paying attention to all that God has already given us!

One day this week, or maybe even a couple, take some time before you pray to think of the good things in your life; could be family, friends, a good day at school, and say a prayer of thanksgiving.

Giving thanks to God is something the Bible tells us to do, and doing it often will help us to grow more thankful hearts and have peace (a great calm, no worries) about everything that we have going on in our lives.

What can you thank God about in prayer this week?

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.”
