What God has taught us

“But watch out! Be very careful never to forget what you have seen God doing for you. May his miracles have a deep and permanent effect upon your lives! Tell your children and your grandchildren about the glorious miracles he did.

  • Deuteronomy 4:9 (NIV)

We celebrate God’s miraculous provision of close to two hundred individuals and families who have pledged a commitment of giving towards Beyond Finish over the next two years. Scripture says that one man sows, another man waters, but God is the one who brings the increase. We believe that what God starts, he finishes.

God is instructs us to never forget because forgetfulness is often the proclivity of our humanity. For example, the children of Israel were miraculously delivered out of slavery in Egypt. Not soon after them being delivered, they desired to go back to Egypt, their former place of bondage. They had forgotten how good God had been to them. Instead of failing to share the miracles, signs, and wonders that God has done in our lives, we oftentimes forget them without knowing.

Key Takeaways from this season of Beyond Finish:

  1. God is in Control. Oftentimes, it feels that our world is out of control. But, we need to remember that God is in control and that He is sovereign. God has all authority in heaven and on earth. Although some Christian denominations believe that miracles ended when the apostles in the New Testament died. However, we as a church still believe that miracles happen today. When God calls us to do something, he will equip us with everything we need.

  2. We Cannot Out Give God. No matter how much you give, we can never out give God because He is so good and so faithful.

As a community of believers:

  1. We grow through commitment. Faith is more than a feeling, it is a committed action. We are so committed to what we believe that it results in actions that can be measured. We remember that faith without works is dead.

  2. It feels really good to give back to God. There is more joy in giving than receiving.

  3. This is a loving and unified family. When people see our church, they witness a loving and united family of faith called to be in community.

Let us remember all that God has done for us as we grow in commitment by faith, give back to God, and remain a loving united family of faith as church as we celebrate His miracles, signs, and wonders in our lives.
