What - SOW - Ever

“…No church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only…Not that I seek the gift, but that you might have fruit.”

Philippians 4:15-17, ESV

As people, we often struggle to receive. We’re filled with guilt, other emotions, and different thoughts and concepts, which make receiving difficult. When we don’t receive, we shut down and we shut out the very nature of God, our Heavenly Father, who loves to give! God wants us to be givers like him. So He asks us to give our time, talent, and treasure. When we give, we are sowing seeds into the ground to reap a harvest over time.

We must understand that our soul is our soil. God needs us to be the soil that He can release His favor through on the earth. We must adopt a new mindset of receiving all that He has for us.

We are not tapping into Christ’s character if the soil of our souls have become hardened. Hardened souls do not have the capacity to receive. We go through the motions without emotion, take one another for granted, and our relationships become hardened paths. We must not become weary in our well-doing. Let’s allow God to till the grounds of our souls. When we allow God access to our lives, we receive favor, promotions, opportunities, and the right kind of love in our hearts.

It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that we will receive.

As we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, let us acknowledge the true nature and character of God as a giver, and posture our hearts to be willing and ready to receive.

Prayer: God, I receive all that you have for me so that your work can be done in me and through me, by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
