Today’s Encouragement
One of the hardest things for me as a parent is to witness my children suffering.
I remember last year when my son was younger and exposed to ghosts for the first time, he had a hard time going to sleep for most of the month of October because he was afraid of them in the dark. We would pray, use a nightlight, talk about how it’s not real, and yet it persisted.
This was the catalyst for me to consider an alternative to public education for him. We learned about an affordable Christian school and he ended up getting accepted. The school already has been a huge blessing to our family, and it has even helped me be a better parent.
Looking back, I see how God was authoring his story, even though we didn’t know how things were going to unfold.
I wish I had thought of this school for my daughter because it’s been really hard for me to see her struggle to find friends with similar values. And it’s even harder for her to live it. I see her suffering and there’s only so much I can do to help.
I often am praying and encouraging her. What keeps me encouraged is knowing that God is going to use it for her growth and his glory.
These moments have really helped solidify my trust in letting go of the unknown for their futures, and really trusting the Lord, who is the author of their story and loves them even more than I do. I hope this encourages you as you face the many uncertainties of parenthood.
Closing Prayer
Father God, we thank you so much for blessing us with children how it helps us learn about you as a father towards us. We know that you are a good father who knows how to give his children good gifts we trust our children they’re callings and their stories to you. And we receive your peace, your joy and your comfort. Amen.
