The Miracle is in the Process

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Genesis 50:20 (NIV)

Joseph’s own brothers betrayed him. They threw him into a pit, and then sold him into slavery. Potiphar, the captain of the guard for Pharaoh, bought Joseph. But in Potiphar’s house, Joseph began to receive advances from Potiphar’s own wife. Joseph repeatedly refused her advances. She was furious and falsely accused Joseph. Potiphar then imprisoned Joseph.

It was here in prison where Joseph would receive a miracle. It was here in one of the lowest parts of his life that he would find the very thing that would eventually lead him to prominence. Even if we’re in the lowest parts of our lives, we can find miracles in the process.

The process produces purpose. The miracle is in hearing God’s voice

God wants to have a direct relationship with us, but if we’re not careful, we can miss God’s voice. Listen and hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. Read the Bible. God also speaks through his written Word. God spoke to Joseph through his dreams. Joseph listened. We have to listen to God or we could miss out on the miracles in our process.

The process produces humility and character. The miracle is in obedience

In the Book of John, Jesus healed a blind man. Jesus used mud and spit and told the blind man to wash in the pool of Siloam. The man listened to Jesus, and he could finally see after having been blind since birth.

The miracle is in obedience. The process produces humility and character. The power was not in the pool. The power was not in the mud. The power was in obedience. Are you ready to obey the voice of the Lord?

The process produces your platform. The miracle is in trusting God

Everything we have been through is a set up for God to do so much through us. God is using what has hurt us to build us up.  There were things that happened in Joseph’s life that were terrible yet necessary to get Joseph to where God wanted him to be.

God is working with us in our waiting season. Trials and temptations will make us perfect and complete. Our perspective will change from “God bless me” to “God make me a blessing.” God is about to change our lives and transform our stories. God is about to use us in ways we never expected.

Prayer: God, teach us humility, character, and discipline. Father, help us to listen to your voice. Help us to be cognizant of the miracles in our process. God, we pray for our process and that you show us what you want us to learn. Amen.
