There Is More of the Holy Spirit
In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit came upon the followers of Jesus like a rushing wind. There is more of God’s spirit for those of us who are called out, those of us who choose to be a part of his great work. The spirit is what breathes the essence and character of God into us.
There Is More in Your Family and Future Generations
God uses family as a portal to blessing. That said, the enemy specifically targets marriages, families, and communities and attempts to sow seeds of dissension and discouragement to block what God has specifically blessed. However, the enemy cannot curse what God has blessed. We should sow seeds of faith in our marriages, families, and communities for God is faithful through the generations (Lamentations 3:22-23).
There Is More to Our Praise
To praise someone or something is to ascribe value or worth. God is worthy of our praise.
Praise should be part of our everyday lives. Praise is more than a Sunday practice or when we
escape calamity. If God didn’t do anything else, what he’s already done is more than enough. We are purposed to praise.
Accent of Humility
Accents help us connect and identify where people are coming from. Jesus had an accent. In Matthew 11 we see Jesus being questioned by one of his followers, John the Baptist, and Jesus responds with an accent of confidence.
Accent of Confidence
An accent gives away where you’re from and who you’re connected to. The Gospel of Matthew reveals different “accents” that Jesus had. Jesus speaks with an accent of confidence and an accent of grace in Matthew 11.
There Is More
God commanded his people to dig ditches 2 Kings 3:15-17. He promised to fill the valley, the lowest place with water, without rain. When they dug deep, below bedrock, they found that the water they needed was already there. What water is already there in your life if you will just dig deep enough?
Sunday Recap: Are you with me?
Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30 (HCSB)
Holy Week: Resurrection Sunday
Today is resurrection Sunday, a day Christians celebrate. We sing songs declaring that Jesus rose from the dead, conquered sin, death and the grave, giving us opportunity for new life and eternal salvation in Jesus.
